Artus explained the reason for Xandala's actions was so she could obtain the Ring of Winter, a powerful magic item in his possession. The Tomb Party, not trusting Xandala's motives after having been lied to, sided with Artus and Dragonbait against her and drove her off into the jungles of Chult.Īfter fending off Xandala, the Artus, Dragonbait, and the Tomb Party became acquainted.
However, Xandala quickly dropped her ruse upon seeing him, and attempted to kill him. They agreed to do so, and eventually succeeded in finding him. She posed as his concerned daughter and asked them to help her find him. Because of the Ring of Winter's magical properties, Artus has lived an extraordinarily long life for a human.Īrtus was first mentioned by Xandala when she approached the original Tomb Party in Port Nyanzaru.
